T.C. (Republic of Türkiye) BALIKESİR UNIVERSITY EDREMİT VOCATIONAL SCHOOL
Edremit Vocational School of Balıkesir University was established to train the intermediate workforce needed in various fields of industry, by the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Executive Board dated February 14, 1994. It began its educational activities in the 1994-1995 academic year with two Technical Programs in a temporary building belonging to the Ministry of National Education: the "Computerized Accounting and Tax Applications Program" and the "Machinery Technician Program." Subsequently, the following programs were opened:
1999 Academic Year: Computer-Aided Design Program (later merged with the Machinery Program);
2003-2004 Academic Year: Computer Programming;
2004-2005 Academic Year: Electrical Appliance Technology Program and Olive Growing and Olive Processing Technology Program;
2007-2008 Academic Year: Mechatronics Program;
2021-2022 Academic Year: Construction Technologies Program, continuing its educational activities with six Technical Programs.
Since the 2000-2001 academic year, our Vocational School has been operating in its own three-story building, which has a total campus area of 20,000 m² and a closed classroom area of 5,000 m². Our Vocational School has one Olive Growing and Olive Processing Technology Program Laboratory, one Olive Pests Laboratory, one Olive Oil Soap Production and Training Workshop, one Olive Oil Production Facility, one Pickling and Olive Processing Workshop, one Renewable Energy Workshop, two Computer Programming Program Laboratories, one Electrical Program Laboratory, one Machinery Program Workshop, and one Mechatronics Program Laboratory.
Our Vocational School aims to create a contemporary educational and scientific culture equipped with universal knowledge and technology, loyal to Atatürk's principles, research-oriented, participatory, sharing, original, and possessing aesthetic values, and to train technically competent technicians with vision who respect social values.
