The Construction Technology Program Alumni Meeting was successfully held online via the BAUNMEET platform on 09.02.2026 at 19:30
The meeting, chaired by the Head of the Department, Lect. Emre ÖZERDOĞAN, was attended by department faculty member Lect. Dr. Halil KARAOĞLAN and alumni who graduated from the program at different periods and are currently active in various branches of the construction sector (field, office, building inspection). During the meeting, the general status of the Civil Technology Program, technical course contents, laboratory applications, internship periods, and the professional experiences encountered by graduates in business life were comprehensively evaluated.
Sharing current application examples from the sector, the graduates expressed their views on the strengths of the program and its adaptation process to modern construction technologies. In particular, recommendations were submitted on increasing the practical weight of courses such as site management, technical drawing programs, and material knowledge; enriching the content regarding current building regulations; and conducting internship opportunities in a more organized manner with corporate firms in the sector.
In the later stages of the meeting, the focus shifted to how graduates could transfer their sectoral knowledge to current students. Within this scope, cooperation models were agreed upon, such as graduates participating as guest speakers in technical training, providing guidance during site visits, and mentoring students during their transition into the professional world. It was emphasized that these meetings are intended to be continued as a tradition to keep the alumni network active.
The event concluded with mutual good wishes, stating that the solution proposals offered by the participants would be included in the department's strategic development plan and discussed in detail by the academic board.
