The Board Meeting of Balıkesir University MEYOK Construction Technology Program Was Held

The Construction Technology Programs of Balıkesir, Edremit, and Dursunbey Vocational Schools operating under the Balıkesir University Vocational Schools Coordination Department (MEYOK) held an online Program Board Meeting to strengthen academic alignment across programs and contribute to accreditation efforts. Organized with the participation of program coordinators, the meeting extensively evaluated the educational objectives, program outcomes, and course information packages of the Construction Technology Programs. The alignment of the programs' institutional identity with their educational objectives, the relationship between program outcomes and assessment/evaluation methods, the consistency of curricula and ECTS credits, internship practices, accreditation processes, and improvement activities to be carried out in line with internal and external stakeholder feedback were discussed.

One of the most critical agenda items of the meeting was bringing the Construction Technology Programs conducted across different vocational schools to common academic standards. As a result of the evaluations, it was determined that the educational objectives, goals, and assessment-evaluation approaches set forth in accordance with the programs' visions and missions were mutually aligned. Furthermore, to ensure standardization in program outcomes, a consensus was reached on defining at least five common program outcomes in compliance with MEDEK criteria.

The meeting also evaluated the 3+1 Workplace Vocational Education Model currently implemented in the programs and the ongoing accreditation preparations. Considering these processes, it was decided to maintain the academic stability of existing course contents, sustain the alignment of course information packages with program outcomes, and execute planned improvement activities in deemed necessary areas. Additionally, it was resolved to continue inter-program collaboration to carry out potential future updates to educational materials and curriculum plans through joint efforts based on up-to-date data and stakeholder feedback, and to implement the required revisions.

Through this meeting, it is aimed to strengthen the common quality approach in education and training processes among the Construction Technology Programs within Balıkesir University MEYOK, standardize program outcomes, and effectively sustain accreditation workflows.
