Our Olive Growing and Olive Processing Technology Program Attracted Great Interest at the 2nd Olive Oil Tasting Festival

The 2nd Olive Oil Tasting Festival - FestOlive, organized in cooperation with the Edremit Chamber of Commerce and the Edremit Commodity Exchange, was held in Güre with great participation between October 24-26, 2025. During the three-day event, the promotional stand of the Olive Growing and Olive Processing Technology Program, which is part of the Department of Plant and Animal Production at Balıkesir University Edremit Vocational School, attracted intense interest.

The Head of the Department, second-year students, and graduates provided detailed information to festival participants regarding the program's educational content, practical courses, laboratory facilities, and student admission requirements. Additionally, promotional brochures prepared by the Head of the Department were distributed to visitors.

At the festival, which was visited by approximately 50,000 people, the university-branded extra virgin olive oil, table olives, olive leaf teas, and olive oil soaps produced by students in practical areas received great appreciation from the participants.

Through this event, our Department of Plant and Animal Production and our students successfully promoted the program, contributed to the region's deep-rooted olive-growing culture, and had the opportunity to meet with the sector's leading representatives.
