Meaningful Social Responsibility Project by Edremit Vocational School Computer Programming Students: Book Donation to a Village School
Books collected as part of the book donation campaign organized by the students of the Computer Programming Program at Edremit Vocational School were delivered to Ortaoba Eşref KAYA Primary and Secondary School on April 27, 2026. During the visit, our students not only provided book support but also came together with the students of the village school to spend a pleasant and productive day.
Within the scope of the "Volunteering Works" course led by our Department Head, Lecturer Dr. Mehtap YILMAZ, various storybooks, novels, supplementary resources, and children's books—collected through the contributions of our volunteer students throughout the campaign—were donated to the school library. During the visit, while reading activities were held with the pupils, social interaction was further strengthened through various games and conversations.
This meaningful event highlighted the importance of sharing, solidarity, and social responsibility. Our students also had the opportunity to experience that volunteering is not just about material support, but that building emotional bonds is equally valuable.
We would like to thank the Principal of Ortaoba Eşref KAYA Primary/Secondary School, Seçil SARĞIN, Vice Principal Nurdan ARSLAN, and all our teachers and students for their hospitality. We also extend our gratitude to Edremit Municipality and our driver Hakan DURSUN for providing transportation to the village school.
