Edremit Chamber of Commerce and Edremit Vocational School Met Within the Scope of TOBB and YÖK Vocational Schools Education Cooperation Protocol
Within the scope of the Vocational Schools Education Cooperation Protocol signed between the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), an evaluation and collaboration meeting was held, hosted by the Edremit Chamber of Commerce. During the meeting, agenda items aimed at integrating vocational education more strongly with sector needs were discussed in line with the core objectives of the protocol.
The meeting was attended by Ahmet Çetin, President of the Edremit Chamber of Commerce; Prof. Dr. Selami Selvi, Director of Edremit Vocational School; Nuray Unat, Vice Director and Lecturer; and Members of the Assembly of the Edremit Chamber of Commerce.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on strengthening the applied training infrastructure of the Vocational School, increasing sector collaborations within the framework of the "3+1 Workplace Vocational Training" models, planning technical visits, seminars, and career events, and developing industry support for the Construction Technology Program. As a result of the evaluations, decisions to strengthen university-industry collaboration and enhance students' practical training opportunities were adopted unanimously.
At the conclusion of the meeting, consensus was reached on implementing the decisions as soon as possible, and it was stated that the collaborative efforts would be re-evaluated during the Fall Semester of the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
